Start your puppy off on the right paw! Our puppy kindergarten class will teach your puppy all the basic commands needed to grow into a well behaved member of your family. Your puppy will learn sit, down, stay, come, heel position, go to your bed and loose leash walking. We will also cover manners like 'leave it', waiting at doorways, four paws on the floor (not jumping up), accepting handling, and automatic attention on the owner. Body awareness exercises and fun tricks will be included. Class discussions will also cover topics such as housetraining, puppy nipping, appropriate play, crate training, etc.

The class includes handouts and video tutorials for the skills taught in the puppy obedience program.  Students are encouraged to join the Hyper Hounds Puppy/Beginner private facebook group for additional tips, videos and questions/answers from instructors.

Puppies must have had their first set of vaccinations and be between 10 weeks and six months of age to start this program.

The Beyond the Basics class is for dogs that have completed a puppy or beginner obedience program and are ready for greater challenges. This class will work on increasing challenges by adding distractions, duration and distance for the skills taught in the puppy/beginner classes. We will also focus on skills needed to pass the CKC's Canine Good Neighbour program. These skills include sit for greeting and grooming, heeling past another dog handler team, out of sight stays, calming down after play, position changes (sit, down, stand with distance), more advanced "leave its", recalls and loose leash walking around distractions and much more.

Reliable Recall

Start Dates:

Sunday, March 24 at 10:15am (no class March 31) 3 spots left

$170+tax for four weeks

Teach your dog to come when called the first time you call! Your dog will learn to love recalls and to race back to you past distractions, with speed and enthusiasm every time you call. This course will also teach you how to train your dog to lay down from a distance for those instances when it isn't safe to call your dog (ie. past a bike path with cyclists).

Basic obedience skills are required to attend this class.
