Welcome to Hyper Hounds Shetland Sheepdogs

We are a small hobby kennel located in southeast Calgary, Alberta. Our focus is on breeding dogs with outstanding temperaments, great structure and a strong drive to work. We conform to the CKC standard for the Shetland Sheepdog and we are members of the Canadian Shetland Sheepdog Association and the Canadian Kennel Club.

Our dogs are members of our family and live in our home, and take part in every aspect of our daily lives. We keep a small number of dogs so that our Shelties will always receive lots of individual attention, training and affection. Our dogs go boating, camping, sleep on the couch, watch movies with us, come to work with us and so much more.

Our Shelties are also very active in dog sports and competition. We have titled dogs in agility, formal obedience, rally obedience, flyball, scent hurdle racing and canine nose work. Our dogs have ranked in the top ten in agility and rally obedience in Canada on several occasions. Our dogs love to work and we love to challenge them with new activities and hobbies.

We are very proud to have had two of our dogs represent Canada at the FCI Agility World Championships. Spryte was on the team in 2014, 2018 and 2019, Spark was a team member for 2018 and 2019.  Spark also represented Canada at the European Open (EO) in 2022.
